Full Itinerary

A Vintage Vehicle

First meet your beautifully restored vintage car at its home in our garage in the middle of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. You will also meet your tour leader who will give you some expert guidance on how to drive a car from the 1960s.

Top Tip: Don’t forget your driver’s license!

Fly Through Florence

Once you are feeling confident about your car, the Fiat 500 tour begins! We will drive through the streets of Florence before leaving the bustling city behind. We will then take an avenue lined with cypress trees and climb high above the city for some amazing views. You won’t have to worry about getting lost, as you will be following the guide and will be in constant radio contact.

Fantastic Photo Ops

Our first stop is at one of the oldest churches in Florence. There's time for a quick visit inside and a chance to take some great photos of you and your car with the city as your backdrop. Then we set off for a gorgeous drive through the hills. We will travel along narrow stone-walled lanes, past historic villas and fields of olive trees, all the while making short stops to take photos of the wonderful landscape. If you have been riding shotgun, now is your chance to swap places with the driver and have your turn behind the wheel!

Lunch Like a Local

Next we will have the chance to sit on a private terrace and take in stunning views of the Tuscan hills, dotted with villas and castles. While we soak up the scenery we can sample some excellent local cheeses and ham and Chianti wine.

Top Tip: Only one glass though! After all, you’re not done driving yet

Back to Florence

After more photo opportunities, it's time to return to the garage, taking the most scenic route back. As you reach the tree lined avenues, prepare to turn some heads as you and your vintage Fiat 500 become one of the sights of Florence.

MEETING POINT

Meeting point is in front of Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) in Piazza dei Cavalleggeri. Look for your guide holding a Walkabout sign.

Departure Time: 8:30am

Departure from: Florence

Best Tour in Italy!

Christian helped make our Florence experience memorable! My husband and I traveled throughout Italy with our two young children ( 8 and 5 years old) and they were so excited for their Fiat tour. They were the only kids on the tour but Christian made sure it fun and educational for them. The whole group was inviting and it was great to get to meet people from all around the world! My kids can not wait to travel more and still talk about how awesome the tour was. I highly recommend this tour with or without kids. We were taken to scenic views throughout Tuscany and even had to maneuver through the streets of Florence in a super fun classic Fiat. Everywhere we drove people would stop and wave because of the group of Fiats brought joy to everyone! This was the best tour we took in Italy and when we come back for a visit we are definitely doing it again! (Our tour was pre-covid)

We took the tour on August 31st 2020 and what a wonderful time me and my mom had driving around Tuscany with the vintage Fiats. Chris was a great guide. He was very patient and informative. It took a few tries to finally get how to turn it on and actually drive it, we laughed the whole time. We are huge Fiat enthusiasts, so it was incredible experience to drive an original one. We stopped at their farmhouse and Carmela made a DELICIOUS lunch of pasta and meats, she is an incredible cook. I took the cooking class back in 2017 and every year I make Carmela's pork recipe for Christmas. Walkabout continues to be the most incredible tour company. Every time I come to Florence I take one of their tours and its always an a life changing experience. See you next time!

The cooking class was a great experience. We had a lot of fun cooking with Luca and Luigi and making gelato with Max. We learned a lot about how to make super tasty Italian pizza and amazing gelato. Furthermore, we were able to enjoy a stunning view. We would highly recommend!
amazing experience and would do it again in a heartbeat

5/5 top class experience. Luca, Chris and Luigi were so much fun and made the experience very enjoyable. They are very knowledgable and shared the best tips on the food, in a fun way. We made ice cream first and left to freeze and then it was pizza time. The views are amazing from the panoramic view in the dining room where you eat the pizza you just made. It’s less than a 10 minute drive from Florence city centre so really close by. All the food taste amazing and would do this again if I’m ever back in Florence. Top tip: Take bite spray!

Absolutely loved our day exploring the Tuscan wine region guided by the amazing Martina. The vineyards we visited were beautiful and we were able to taste some amazing wines. Martina was so knowledgeable and even threw in a surprise blind olive oil tasting, which was really useful. Lunch was delicious and with a spectacular view. It was genuinely a fantastic day which exceeded our expectations, and Martina definitely was a big part of that.

It was a very good experience. Driving with these vintage Fiats was a lot of fun. The guide takes you through very narrow roads around Firenze. The price is very good. You get an amazing experience and the food and wine at the restaurant are delicious. We ordered 3 cars in advance, but there was a little doubt that everyone would fit in. So one day before the tour we ordered an extra car an that was no problem. The price stayed the same. The Fiats are pretty old. So don't expect it to drive like a modern car. I have experience in old cars (i own several classic cars) but when you are not used to it, the first kilometers are a struggle. My Fiat didn't always run that nice. I think the carburetor needed some adjustment There were also little issues with the other car in our group. Maintenance could be a little better, but it's difficult to do this all the time. The tour takes you several times along the same roads. Some people in our group didn't mind but when you are experienced, tour driver it's not that much fun. .

We had a fantastic day sightseeing the beauty of Tuscany! We really lucked out with our tour guide- Elisa! SHE WAS AMAZING! I travel all around the world and go on many tours, and have to say that Elisa was probably my favorite guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about this region, and full of interesting facts and information. Overall this tour was great- what a good value for the money. We spend couple of hours exploring Sienna, followed by a fantastic lunch at the local winery, then we explore San Gimignano (in love with this place), and lastly drive all the way up to Pisa, to see the leaning tower, and the cathedral. Strongly recommend this tour to anyone who has a limited time and wants to see highlights of Tuscany in one day. Again- thank you Elisa for making our day so special and for showcasing beauty of Tuscany to us.

AMAZING!!!! If I could leave more stars I would!!! This trip was definitely worth doing! We got picked up early in Florence in a little car and driven out to the base where the Vespas are parked. We had a test drive before we took off and then we followed our guide Alex all around the hills of Florence!! I’m normally easily scared but I felt really safe on the Vespa. If you’re hoping to go for a speedy ride, this probably isn’t for you my friend! The bikes didnt go above 50kmph with two people on them which was just right. Plus Alex took us down all the winding back roads so it was incredibly scenic without much traffic. He stopped at various spots for photos and explained to us a lot about the wine from the region and how it is made. He was an incredibly knowledgable guide. He also gave us a lot of tips for where else to visit in Florence. We then went to a very pretty hub where our other guide (also Alex) had made us an amazing meal and we had some awesome local wine. We then went further round Florence before saying goodbye to the Vespas and being taken back to Florence. Absolutely loved it!!! I know it doesnt initially appear to be the cheapest thing to do in Florence, but Alex and the team he works with are well worth it. You MUST give it a go. So much fun!!
