Full Itinerary

On our Chianti wine tour you will enjoy a comprehensive introduction to the region and its local products while visiting two of the area’s best estates. As you sample the signature tipples, you’ll learn about the art of tasting and pairing with food.

Villa le Corti

Our first stop of the day is at a beautiful winery belonging to one of our prestigious Italian aristocratic families. Here we taste three wines paired with salumi (cured meats) – but first, there’s a fascinating guided tour of the historic cellars and the olive mill, which we will reach through underground tunnels that pass beneath the villa

Rignana

Now buckle up and get ready for some off-roading through ancient woodlands and rolling hills. Hop aboard ‘the Beast’ and take in the beautiful scenery, from the cypress trees to the rustic farms and churches, as we make our way to Rignana, a typical Tuscan restaurant and winery with stunning views. Get your taste buds ready for lunch of delicious food and red wine (and a blind olive oil tasting). You won’t want to leave!

Try Tuscan specialities with a 3-course lunch

Lamole di Lamole

Next we will go deeper into the hills and enjoy more of the incredible countryside on our way to a Chianti Classico vineyard. Lamole di Lamole features two award-winning wines that you will taste paired with cheeses, as you learn about how they were created. This is the penultimate stop on our Chianti wine tour, and you will have ample time to relax and enjoy the lovely afternoon light, which is sure to add to the unforgettable memories you will have created so far

See one of the few existing egg-shaped wooden barrel in the world!

Greve

Finally we will stop in Greve, a picturesque town and a highlight of our Chianti wine tour. You will have some free time to wind down and get a coffee, shop or just soak in the unique Italian culture of this idyllic place. You will also have the chance to buy a selection of typical salumi (cured meats) from one of Italy’s most famous butcher shops. Interestingly enough, the store also sells ice cream that incorporates cheeses and meats. Are you brave enough to try some? It’s sure to be a perfectly unique way to end a perfectly unique day, if we do say so ourselves!

MEETING POINT

Meeting point is in front of Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) in Piazza dei Cavalleggeri. Look for your guide holding a Walkabout sign.

We loved everything about this tour. First of all, we had a very knowledgeable tour guide, his name is Alex. He provided us with very interesting information and facts about the Chianti region. We drove in a comfortable van with leather seating and had a lovely driver. We visited several wineries and had the most amazing sceneries while driving around and visiting the wineries. We visited wine cellars and learned a lot about the process of wine making. The tastings were done in different settings and were all perfect! The different wines were pleasant to drink and the food pairing was beautifully done. We spend some free time in Greve, a charming village and had some really good gelato! This tour over exceeded our expectations and I think it is worth every penny! You won't be dissapointed. Thank you Alex, for making this a very memorable tour!

This tour far surpassed our expectations. There were only 9 of us and it felt like a private tour tailored just to us. Each of the 3 stops were unique and we learned so much. Martina was an amazing tour guide, super knowledgeable and fun. This was easily our favourite day on our trip through Italy.

Amazing scenery, wine and food to boot! Learnt way more about wine than we ever knew before. Would recommend splashing out on this one rather than some of the cheaper ones.

We did this tour almost a year back and it was amazing. We got really busy right afterwards and completely forgot to review it, even though I had taken notes so we didn't forget it. We were looking back at some of the pictures today and that's when it hit us; how inconsiderate we had been for not posting this sooner. Stefano, the guide, was just superb. He explained every little detail and then some. As soon as we got on The Beast the trip took off to an experience that honestly was burned into our souls. Every time we buy wine we think about all the special things, labels, and details that go into it. And as funny as it may sound the same is true for olive oil. Who the heck would've thought we would also learn so much about olive oil as well. Whether you are by yourself in the region or with someone else. If you have the time you must do this. And if you don't, I recommend you make the time. It is just one of those experiences that seems to live with you. And make sure you ask for Stefano and that you look for The Beast.

We visited three beautiful wineries throughout the Chianti region and our guide Gloria was amazing at telling the story of each one. She provided great detail in describing the processes used to produce the wine and olive oil. When it came to tasting, she made sure we knew what we were doing so we could identify the subtle flavours in the wines and olive oil that we tasted. We ended the day doing some shopping in Greve. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence and wants to go on a unique wine tasting experience!

This tour was one of our best experiences in Italy. It is a full day activity but they take you all over the Chianti area to have different wines and cheese. The lunch was unreal yummy with a great view. Alex was an amazing tour guide that you can just tell loves what he does and is great at it too. Honestly, they could charge triple the price and this tour would still be worth it.

My husband and I booked this tour as part of our honeymoon. Alex was our guide and was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We were fortunate enough to be in a group with only two other couples which made the experience even more special and personalized. Tasted many great cheeses, meats, and Chianti wines at three different wineries. Beautiful views and the off-road vehicle is very fun and comfortable. Alex guided us through all the pairings and we learned a lot about the wine making process as well. Highly recommend this tour! We even stopped in a small town on the way back to Florence where we were able to walk around on our own but we opted to stick with our group and try some Grappa as well as check out the amazing local butcher shop. Great day! Will be talking about this for years to come!

This tour is worth every penny. At first, the armored-looking vehicle seemed like it could be a gimmick. However, it really was useful and necessary for getting to some of the smaller and more remote stops, making it a highly memorable and less commercial feel. There is a nice balance of education and fun. The meal was delicious, and the view was even better But more than anything, it was our guide, Stefano, who made this trip worth it. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable in wine and olive oil, but he was legitimately one of the funniest people we me in Italy. GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE.

I took a solo backpacking trip through Italy over the summer and decided to stop in Florence to visit Tuscany. The Chianti Wine Tour and our guide, Martina, exceeded all my expectations. Not only is Martina incredibly knowledgable, but she made sure we got to sample some of the best wine, meats, cheese, and olive oil Tuscany had to offer (and got to see some incredible views!). At the end of the tour, we stopped in a small town to shop at the market in case we wanted to bring anything back with us. I would highly recommend this tour if you are in Tuscany area and want to have an expert-guided wine and food tasting experience.

We had an amazing time on this tour! We visited 3 different wineries throughout the day, one in the morning, one over lunchtime, and one in the afternoon. Each location was paired with wonderful cheese and meats; the second winery was also a restaurant where, in addition to tasting some great wines, we ate lunch and did an olive oil blind taste test. Our guide, Martina, was very informed on all things Chianti; we learned so much about both wine and olive oil while on the trip! On the way back to Florence, we stopped in Greve for an espresso and some light shopping. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for an introduction to the Chianti region.
