Is the train station safe?
I'll be travelling on my own and have a late arriving train. I'll need to find my hotel as soon as I arrive, will there be taxis?
Florence is a safe city, but just as in any major city, the train station is the spot that can attract pickpockets and opportunist thieves. Use common sense and keep your valuables secure and your luggage close to you. There are police who regularly patrol the station as well.
For taxis, you'll find the taxi stand outside the front of the station (there's a big orange sign with the word TAXI on it) and taxis will either already be waiting there or will regularly pull up to the station.
