How to get from Pisa airport to Florence
I'm flying into Pisa with my family in July, is it better to take a train to Florence or a bus?
There are frequent trains to Florence that leave from right outside Pisa airport, but there is a change at Pisa Centrale for most services and the total journey time is about an hour and a half. You can check schedules at www.ferroviedellostato.it.
Tickets are currently 5.70 Euro and available from the machine at the beginning of the platform or from the ticket desk next to the information booth in the arrivals area of the airport (a one euro surcharge for this service).
The main station in Florence is called Firenze Santa Maria Novella and it is the last stop.
There is also a bus service run by Terravision which leaves from the front of the arrivals door at the airport and goes directly to the train station in Florence with a journey time of an hour and ten minutes depending on traffic. Tickets are currently 10 Euro and are also available in the arrivals area of the airport or online at www.terravision.eu
