How can I buy my train ticket? Do I need to reserve before?
How easy is it to get a train to Lucca from Florence and how can I get my ticket? Do I need to reserve a ticket in advance?
There's no need to reserve tickets for regional trains like the one from Lucca to Florence. Just buy your ticket on the day before boarding the train. The ticket machines inside the station have an option in English so you won't have language problems.
Remember also to validate your ticket (you'll notice there's no time or date on it, just the arrival and departure cities) by putting it in one of the little yellow boxes on the tracks – you can get a fine for not doing this and ticket inspectors are not very tolerant of the excuse “I didn't know!”
