Fiesole as a day trip
We've heard good things about Fiesole. Is it easy to get to from Florence and what is the best way?
Fiesole is a very pretty, ancient town with stunning views of Florence and the surrounding countryside and plenty to see. It is a quick and easy ride on the local public Ataf bus (number 7) from Florence. Pick it up at its starting point in Piazza San Marco and the bus will drop you in Piazza Mino, Fiesole's main piazza an the last stop. A ticket will cost 1.20 euro and lasts 90 minutes. As you probably want to spend more time there than that, consider that this is the price one way. The buses run very frequently - about every 15 minutes until midnight - and the journey takes about 15 minutes.
